I grew up in Orlando.  Launches were kind of the humdrum background of life there.

Rockets in Orlando head east almost immediately.  After a few minutes, they're out of sight.

I now live in San Diego, considerably farther from Vandenberg Space Force [still weird sounding] Base than Orlando is from Kennedy Space Center.

But Vandenberg was built for polar orbits: they send the rockets down the coast.  Very nice.  And the cadence is getting quite frequent.

I'm not a serious photographer (but I have some decent equipment I bought to capture my son's volleyball team (UCVolley.com)).

Here are some videos I took from my back patio:

In 2021, I was getting antsy to see an in-person launch again.  In the only solo vacation I've taken since my single days, I flew to Brownsville, TX, to see a Starship launch.

Here's that story:  Starship SN11: In-person
