This page contains specific instructions for Curie Elementary users: Curie will be using (and retaining) the factory packaging for storage and transport.

Note: you may want to pull out the Power Pack and charge it right away.

Leave the inner box in the outbox.  Lift the top back to reveal the four inner boxes:

• Scope
• Tripod/power
• Mount & Accessories
• Instructions and Maps

Open the Tripod box

Pull out the Tripod. Spread the legs. Lock the braces. Pick a height (generally lower is better.  All the way down is fine.). Make sure the legs are roughly the same length and that the tripod top is roughly level.

Open the Mount Box

(the package in this box has been modified to hold our accessories). Lift out the top foam section. It will need to be placed back in the box in the same orientation (Left side remains on the Left side), place it so that you remember how it went in. Take out the Tripod Spreader. Place the spreader onto the braces and lock into place by twisting clockwise.

As per the instructions in the Quick Set-up Guide:

• Attach the Mount to the Tripod
• Attach the Scope to the Mount
• Attach the Finder and Eyepieces

Packing Up the Scope

When finished with the scope, package the scope in the reverse order of setup:

Turn off the scope.

Turn off the Finder, remove it and return to its place in the foam.

Return the eyepieces to their cases and return to their places in the foam.

Unplug the Hand Controller and return it to its place in the foam.

Unplug the DC power cord.

Detach the Mount and return it to its box.  You can adjust the vertical angle of the camera if you need to.

Return the Tripod Spreader to its slot in the Mount box.

Place the power pack in the Tripod box. Return the DC Cord and AC Adapter to the Tripod box. Place the Tripod in the Tripod box (feet go in the holes).
